Description

Your main duties and responsibilities will be to interpret parts, online and phone sales to market and promote company products as well as Inventory Control and Purchasing / receipt of components for workshop / customer demands.

Aspects of the position:

  • Marketing and sales of parts to customers, ensuring business plan targets and goals are met and/or exceeded.
  • Maintain and develop customer base as well as generate new customers.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to all front counter and phone enquiries.
  • Generate Parts sales invoices.
  • Process credit returns in full.
  • Generate invoices and process returned goods paperwork to the Warehouse.
  • Ensure personal filing of all Customer orders, manual invoices or documentation relative to the daily implementation of your duties.
  • Daily mailing of all invoices, orders or external communications personally generated.
  • Raise vendor purchase orders in accordance with the Company policy and order system.
  • Receipt and vendor documentation.
  • Provide a support service to telephone sales personnel to ensure all incoming Customer enquiries are answered with a minimum of delay.
  • Participate in relative committee approved selling, self improvement or product knowledge courses that will provide opportunities for personal and Company reward.
  • Various parts warehousing tasks, eg, sorting, ordering, stocktaking.
  • Identification and labelling of vehicle components.
  • Research and identification of suppliers of identified parts with no vendor.
  • Availability for irregular overtime as required meeting customer operational demands.
  • Any other duties / responsibilities relative to the improvement of Parts Services supply and Customer Relations as may be directed by the Parts Manager or his/her nominated representative.
  • To ensure compliance with Environmental Policy, ISO9000 standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. To take all reasonable steps and precautions to protect our workplace, employees, and our environment

Profile

To be considered for the role, you must have the following skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Parts Interpreter,
  • Ability to provide excellent communication and customer service
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inc. drug & alcohol test
  • Excellent technical / mechanical aptitude
  • Strong truck parts knowledge preferably within a retail environment via phone or counter sales
  • Excellent computer & database system skills (ERA and GDS / Fusion knowledge desirable)
  • Ability to prioritise workloads & work effectively within a team
  • Forklift licence

Desirable Skills

  • Defence Repair Parts Scale knowledge
  • Parts merchandising & warehousing skills
  • Relevant trade certificate
  • Stock picker licence
