After taking time off to have a baby, Marie-Louise Burness looked for work for over twelve months without success. Burness felt she had not received adequate support from her recruiter and wrote to the editor of the Northside Chronicle regarding her frustration.
When Adecco Recruitment Consultant, Nicole Russell, read the published letter, she contacted the Chronicle and advised them that Adecco had potential positions available for Burness.
The Adecco Group delivers recruitment and career services to organisations and individuals across the employment lifecycle; and widely publicises its mission to help clients, candidates and colleagues achieve ‘better work, better life.’
“We have a lifecycle approach to recruitment, no matter where you are in your career, from your first job to returning to work, we can support your development,” said Adecco’s Eagle Farm Branch Manager, Mark Wilkinson.
Russell asked the Chronicle to pass on Adecco’s details and the paper obliged. Burness soon contacted the Eagle Farm office to discuss her resume. The team were impressed with her attitude and skill set, and set up an interview with long term client Steric Trading, who was in need of an administration person.
Burness started in her new permanent part time position two weeks ago, enabling her to balance employment with her role as a mother. Steric Trading has expressed satisfaction with the placement.
“I am so proud of my consultants for taking the initiative to help this lady out,” said Wilkinson. “I hope this shows that a committed recruiter can help you achieve better work, better life.”
